Location: Meridian Place, 30 Simcoe Street, Barrie
When: Friday 7:30 to 10:30 and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Enjoy a free evening of Canadian music at the Troubadour Festival in downtown Barrie. Local artists B Knox, Noah Ruttan and Jolie Anastasia take the stage before acclaimed indie rock band Zeus and five-time JUNO Award winner Bahamas. Browse fresh seasonal produce from area farmers, explore handmade goods from talented artisans and pick up something tasty from local food vendors. Collingwood Cheesecake & Taco Fest

Location: Great Northern Exhibition, 2220 Fairgrounds Road North, Stayner
When: Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Bring your appetite to the Collingwood Cheesecake & Taco Fest, where creative sweet treats and savoury favourites come together for a fun weekend in Stayner. Enjoy live music, browse a large artisan market, visit the margarita bar and stop for photos or lawn games. A complimentary kids’ zone adds family-friendly fun, while the first 30 guests each day receive loaded swag bags. When: Friday and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Celebrate sunflower season with a colourful day at Rounds Ranch. Take a scenic tractor ride to a 10-acre field, then wander more than a mile of trails surrounded by dozens of sunflower varieties and picture-ready props. Admission includes one pick-your-own sunflower and more than 25 Ranchland activities, including the petting zoo, corn maze, Barnyard Boxcars and Bandit’s Bubble Bash.
