Kempenfest 2026

Location: Barrie Waterfront Parks, Lakeshore Drive, Barrie

When: Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Celebrate the August long weekend at Kempenfest, Barrie’s signature waterfront festival. Explore nearly 300 arts and crafts vendors, antique displays, food vendors, a lively midway, family activities and live music along 1.5 kilometres of shoreline. Festival admission is free for all ages, although select concerts require tickets. With creative finds, tasty treats and entertainment throughout the waterfront, Kempenfest offers a welcoming way for friends and families to enjoy summer together. More info here.

KALEO: Way Down We Go Tour

Location: Casino Rama Resort, 5899 Rama Road, Rama

When: Saturday from 7:00 p.m.; concert begins at 8:00 p.m.

Spend Saturday evening at Casino Rama Resort as Icelandic rock band KALEO brings its Way Down We Go Tour to the stage with special guest Vincent Lima. Guests can look forward to powerful vocals, guitar-driven favourites and well-known songs such as “Way Down We Go” and “No Good.” Doors open at 7:00 p.m., with the concert beginning at 8:00 p.m. This ticketed event is for guests aged 19 and older, making it an energetic night out for rock fans across Simcoe County. Plunge! Aquatic Centre

Location: 220 Gord Canning Drive, The Blue Mountains

When: Daily from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Cool off and enjoy year-round family fun at Plunge! Aquatic Centre in Blue Mountain Village. The heated indoor and outdoor pools feature a waterslide, rope swing, basketball nets, outdoor hot tubs and an indoor water playground for younger swimmers. Suitable for all ages, the centre offers two-hour visits with certified lifeguards on duty. Admission is available through attraction tickets or passes, and capacity is managed on a first-come, first-served basis. More info here.

Sainte-Marie Among the Hurons

Location: 16164 Highway 12 East, Midland

When: Daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Step into the past at Sainte-Marie among the Hurons, a reconstructed 17th-century mission where history comes to life along the Wye River. Explore historic buildings, meet costumed interpreters, visit the interactive museum and learn about the Wendat and French communities connected to the site. During July and August, visitors can also enjoy daily demonstrations featuring traditional cooking, fire starting, waterways, Indigenous games and historic medicine.
