When: Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Step back into local farming history at Family Farm Day, the Coldwater Canadiana Heritage Museum’s biggest event of the year. Visitors can explore tractors, enjoy live music, watch heritage demonstrations and get a hands-on look at farm life in the 1840s. Bring the whole family and a camera for a welcoming day of learning and community fun. Admission is by donation, with a suggested contribution of $10 per person, while children under 12 attend free. 48th Annual Orillia Scottish Festival
Location: Couchiching Beach Park, Orillia
When: Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Celebrate Scottish heritage at the 48th Annual Orillia Scottish Festival, a lively community gathering filled with music, tradition and family-friendly fun. Enjoy the colourful parade, massed pipe bands, Highland dancing, Scottish country dancing, heritage displays, food vendors, a community market and children’s activities throughout the park. When: Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Step into local history at Living in the Past, an engaging afternoon at the Simcoe County Museum. Visitors of all ages can explore the museum’s galleries and scenic grounds while trying hands-on activities and watching live demonstrations. Knowledgeable interpreters bring traditional skills and trades to life, including weaving, embroidery, blacksmithing and rope making.
