#1 Scenic Caves and Suspension Bridge at Blue Mountain
The first spot on our list is the one of a kind Scenic Caves Nature Adventures dating back 450 million years. Visiting the scenic caves will require purchasing an admission ticket for the day. This will include access to the Caves/Crevasse Trail, 420ft Suspension Bridge, 15km Hiking Trail Centre, Look Out Points, Children’s Adventure Playground, wooden animal carvings, trout pond (feed the fish), and picnic areas.
There are different activities to do during the winter season too. This is a perfect way to spend a day on the weekend with your family.

#2 Duncan Escarpment Provincial Park
The Duncan Caves trail in the Collingwood-Blue Mountain area offers an engaging day-hike with diverse terrain and features. Formed through years of temperature extremes and gravity, large boulders have detached from the Niagara Escarpment, creating unique crevice caves.
These caves, along with challenging crevices that require some technical scrambling, make the hike particularly interesting. The trail also appeals to bouldering enthusiasts and rock climbers due to its varied rock faces.

#3 Nottawasaga Lookout Provincial Nature Reserve
The Nottawasaga Lookout Provincial Nature Reserve offers many beautiful trails to explore. One that we suggest is the Singhampton Lookout and Caves. This longer loop trail through a diverse ecosystem offers stunning views of Georgian Bay. As well as, captivating root-paved forests, and intriguing caves and crevasses.
It includes several steep and rocky sections, with loose moss that demands careful navigation and sturdy footwear. Recommended for those comfortable with off-trail challenges, this route combines natural beauty with a touch of adventure. Parking can be found in the corner of Eagle Cr off of County Road 31.
#4 Pretty River Valley Provincial Park
The Pretty River and Bruce Trail loop offers a diverse hiking experience. This hike featuring scenic landscapes that include river views, hilltop vistas, and the lush branch forest. Located in the Pretty River Valley Provincial Park, the trail is popular for its forest floor blanketed with Trilliums, Ontario’s provincial flower.

#5 Wasaga Beach Provincial Park
The final spot on our list is the Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. This is where you can find a beautiful walk on the beach and warm sand on your feet with a 14 km trail that follow along Wasaga Beach. Along the way you will take in spectacular views of Georgian Bay and giant sand dunes.
Or, you can head inland and go for a nice cool walk through the forest on the Pine Trail. Then as the day ends you can head to the boardwalk for some food and shopping while the sun sets on Georgian Bay. Remember to take some pictures of those amazing sunsets.
