City officials advise residents to steer clear of wooded areas in parks due to unstable tree limbs, and large fallen branches on private property should be handled by professionals. The city has waived brush tipping fees at the landfill until Friday, May 2, to assist with cleanup. And don’t forget—keeping fire hydrants clear of snow and ice near your property is not just helpful, it’s a crucial safety step.

April Guided Tours: A Unique Experience
Location: Sainte-Marie among the Hurons, Midland, Ontario
When: April 2 to 26, 2025 — Tuesdays to Saturdays at various times
Step into history this spring with an exclusive small-group tour at Sainte-Marie among the Hurons, running Tuesdays to Saturdays from April 2 to 26. These guided experiences, ideal for ages 10 and up, are led by seasoned interpreters and feature a curated route through the historic site, an introductory film, and access to the Restaurant, Museum, and Gift Shop. Tour times are 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on weekdays, and 10:30 a.m., noon, 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Good Friday (April 18). The Visitors Centre opens 30 minutes before each tour. While most buildings are open, some may still be undergoing maintenance, and historical animals will not be on-site.
