If you've been thinking about selling your home, now just might be the right time. Home sales in July from the Barrie & District Association of REALTORS® MLS® system were up 23% over 2010 at 380 units and in the city of Barrie itself home sales were up 11% over last year at 232 units.
The Association goes on to say that the number of active residential listings on their MLS® system is down 3% from July 2010. This increase in sales activity and lack of listings for buyers to choose from creates an opportunity for those looking to sell. According to Catherine Garbe, President of the Association, this opportunity is time sensitive as "demand is showing signs of stabilizing at fairly normal and healthy levels" in the near future.
